Next Tuesday 28 April is International Workers’ Memorial Day, a day for commemorating people killed or permanently injured at work.
It is a day to highlight the importance of health and safety by focusing on preventable workplace incidents and promoting health and safety at work.
The slogan for the day is ‘Remember the dead – Fight for the living’.
Workers’ Memorial Day started in Canada in 1984 but has since spread to over 30 countries, including Australia, the UK and the USA.
Budget Forklifts has chosen to participate by holding a minute’s silence to commemorate all those who have lost their lives from a work related injury or illness.
We ask that everyone please:
1. Observe 1 minute of silence at 11am next Tuesday 28th April 2015.
2. Think of some ways you could help improve safety and health in our workplace.
3. Put a reminder into your calendar for this time.
